San Francisco's leading sustainability professionals gather under one roof for an extraordinary chance to meet face-to-face.
On September 14, BC3 members and nonmembers gathered for "A Common Green", an annual networking event sponsored by the Bently Reserve, Larkspur Hotels, and the Business Council on Climate Change that brings environmental non-profits, government agencies, foundations, and businesses together for a night of learning and celebrating the environment in the Bay Area. At the event, SF Green Film Festival screened several short films, the Energy Foundation gave tours of their LEED Platinum space, and other organizations, including the Trust for Public Land, Coral Reef Alliance, ClimateWorks Foundation, SF Department of the Environment and SF Green Business Program, and Friends of the Urban Forest provided information about their environmental programs and services. At BC3's interactive display, organizations engaged in an analysis of their climate-related strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats (see their answers below). To encourage networking and information-sharing among the event's partners, BC3 also organized a scavenger hunt that sent participants in a mad dash around the Bently Reserve's banking hall (questions and answers below). WHAT ARE YOUR ORGANIZATION'S CLIMATE STRENGTHS, WEAKNESSES, OPPORTUNITIES AND CHALLENGES? A SWOT ANALYSIS.At "A Common Green", BC3 created an interactive display to get people talking about how climate change affects their organizations. We've posted some answers to the questions below (click a photo to enlarge, then click the arrow to advance to the next one). Thank you to all who participated!
"A COMMON GREEN" 2011 SCAVENGER HUNTAttendees at A Common Green competed to find answers to the following questions posed by the event's partner organizations. Correct responses were added to a raffle drawing at the end of the evening to win a basket of prizes donated by all event partners.
