Our organization has calculated a greenhouse gas baseline, using EPA Climate Leaders. This baseline helps to define a starting point against which future progress can be measured.

We are currently developing a GHG-reduction plan, or Climate Action Plan, in order to minimize GHG emissions. 

Our organization also has a staff member(s) responsible for addressing internal sustainability issues.  We have multiple locations in North America as well as Europe each location has specific goals and incentives to reduce GHG.

Our company executes the following internal GHG-reducing actions:

• Employee Transportation Incentives including pre-tax commuter benefits
• Energy-Efficiency and Production by performing Energy Audits
• Waste Management
• Provides composting
• Provide Recycling
• Installed high-efficiency toilets
• Installed high-efficiency faucets
• Inform staff of ways to conserve water

Our organization engages employees around sustainability and provides them with sustainable employee benefits. We do this by:

• Holding employee education/training programs on climate change or sustainability
• Subsidizing driving hybrids or electric vehicles

Environmental factors are important to our organization when selecting an office space.  When doing so, we take the following environmental factors into account:

• Buildings renovated for environmental purposes
• Operable windows
• Lighting controls
• Indoor Environmental Quality

Our organization's Bay Area buildings all have lighting  timers when not in use, automatic faucets, use of skylights.

We have a green procurement policy.  Moreover, our organization practices the following as a part of our formal policy:

• Sustainable fleet management
• Green Coprorate events

 
Our organization engages clients on climate issues through employee training on climate communications, aimed at customers/clients and our company website.

We engage employees on climate issues through incentives for Hybrids and EV’s.

Our organization would be willing to share our experience about our community leadership as a member of BC3.

We actively engage with policy members through:

• Writing letters to elected public officials—local, state, federal
• Meeting with policy makers to discuss policies and initiatives regarding climate
• Providing testimony at legislative hearings

• Engaging with government to identify collaboration opportunities to address climate change such as: business initiatives, media, NGOs, etc.

Our organization is engaged in industry advocacy, business coalitions, supply chain management or other initiatives as related to climate change.  We have worked with the EPA, CARB, CalStart, and Coalition for Clean Air.

Our organization would be willing to speak with the media about climate policy on behalf of BC3.

Over the past year, members of our organization have collaborated with other BC3 members by attending BC3 events.

Our organization has staff with expertise in the following areas that they would be willing to share with other members:

• Alternative fuel vehicles
• Transportation Programs
• Hybridization of commercial vehicles
• All electric vehicles

Our organization has its own climate-related case studies that it would like to share with other members.  These provide specific, concrete ideas and solutions for implementing organizational and operational changes to address climate change.  They also help facilitate collaboration among BC3 members.  These case studies are attached here: Payback Calc - Truck Bus EV (2) 2.22.11.xlsx

We use communication tools, which provide avenues for communication and discussion on climate-related news and issues among BC3 members.  We have used these tools to share the following information a LinkedIn copy of our company and technology presentation on profile.

Our organization works with other community-based organizations or non-profits on climate-related issues.  We are a member of Calstart and EDTA.

We are willing to provide the following resources within the BC3 network:

• Provide testimonial
• Provide legislative support
• Leverage our relationship with California resources board and CA energy commission

Our organization communicates progress on its climate goals internally through meetings.
