Moving Forward with Electric Vehicles: A Bay Area Business Guide

The Business Council on Climate Change and Bay Area Council jointly present a new guide to accelerate the deployment of electric vehicles and infrastructure in the Bay Area by providing businesses with easy-to-follow steps to become “EV Ready”.

The guide enables local corporations, retailers, or any company with a car spot to install an electric vehicle charging station. "Electrify Your Business" was spearheaded by a group of Bay Area member company leaders from the Business Council on Climate Change and the Bay Area Council, who recognized the need for a step-by-step guide geared toward helping businesses play a role in the build-out of a Bay Area network of EV charging stations and infrastructure.

The guide inspires and engages local business owners and corporate executives and elected officials to embrace the new electric vehicle revolution. It provides the business case, helpful financial and logistical implementation details, and a practical checklist for getting started. It also offers:
  • An overview of Bay Area commercial and municipal electric vehicle deployment to date
  • Cost of operations estimates for electric versus internal combustion engine vehicles
  • Charging infrastructure installation and costs
  • A practical checklist for getting started
  • Many other resources and tools!
