At PG&E’s Pacific Energy Center on February 10, 2009, about 20 BC3 members convened for a presentation and discussion of introductory techniques to energy savings through Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning management. Cole Roberts, a Senior Consultant at ARUP, began the meeting with a 45-minute presentation entitled “Introduction to HVAC Efficiency.”
In addition, Kathleen Hannon from the San Francisco Department of the Environment’s Energy Watch Team described incentives for HVAC efficiency projects within the city.
A short Q&A session followed.
Topics discussed included: Boilers, chillers, fan motors and variable frequency drives, passive cooling, heat recovery, direct digital controls/energy management systems and retrocommissioning.
