United Nations Global Compact Center Update
On September 22, 2010 at the UNGC Center Update held at San Francisco City Hall, Kelly Pretzer and Anne Taupier of the San Francisco Office of Economic and Workforce Development outlined major developments expected to occur at the Hunters Point Shipyard. Most notably, Building 813, a vacant 260,000 sq. ft. building constructed in 1948, will be rehabilitated to the highest sustainability targets, and will become a world-class example of building re-use technologies and design. Upon completion, Building 813 is targeted to provide flexible space for early stage clean technology companies, as well as provide a home for the United Nations Global Compact Sustainability Center.
