UN Global Compact Cities Programme

Paul James began with a summary of BC3’s relationship with the UN. He discussed how the UN is working to improve the Global Compact Cities Programme in the future, through the introduction of a new distinction of three levels of engagement in the Cities Programme:
Signatory City—has signed on to the 10 principles of the Global Compact
Reporting City—has signed on to the 10 principles and is reporting what they are doing
Innovating City (14 including SF)— has signed on to the10 principles, is reporting actions, & has developed and implemented an innovative project
In addition, the current and potential resources available to BC3 through the Global Compact Cities Programme were discussed.
